Stadler Anlagenbau GmbH produces ballistic separators in Germany. Such equipment is essential in an efficient sorting flow.
The ballistic separator separates the flow of treated materials into three fractions:

  • rolling fraction which may include: containers, plastic bottles, stones, wood, aluminum cans, pieces of steel, etc
  • flat or light fraction that may include: foil, textiles, paper, cardboard or other fibrous materials
  • the fine fraction that passes through the perforations of the paddles.

Both the rolling fraction and the flat fraction, at the exit of the ballistic separator, are evenly distributed on the accelerating conveyor of the NIR separators and by “shaking” in the treatment process they are detached from each other and the fine fraction is separated from them.

In Romania, ballistic separators are used in waste sorting stations.
